How To Split The Cost Of Shipping With Kaebox

Here at Kaebox, we believe in providing customers with an efficient, easy-to-use process for paying for their orders. This includes allowing customizations in certain stages to allow for a more streamlined approach to shipping. When you have to split the cost of shipping with another party, that process should be seamless and stress-free. If you use the Kaebox app to ship, then you will always enjoy a streamlined shipping experience. 





Step-by-Step Instructions:


Open the "Send" Page


Select where the package will be picked up to begin, and fill out the ‘Sender Address’ details.


Select ' Yes ' if the pickup address is the same as the sender's. If the sender address differs from the pickup address, then select ‘No’.


Enter the Addresses


Click to add the ‘Recipient Address’ and fill out the details.


You should see two address fields on your screen.

Sender’s Address: Here you will enter the address you are shipping from. If the Pick-Up Address differs from the Sender’s Address, then select No at the top of the page. If these addresses are the same, then select Yes. This is an important step in case your shipment cannot be delivered and the item must be sent back to its point of origin. Users can also utilize the Address Book function in the app to fill out forms seamlessly.

Recipient Address: This is the address where your shipment will be delivered. Take special care to verify all the information is correct and up to date before you continue. 


To ensure the package pickup and delivery locations are correct, you can open the map icon to drop a pin at the exact location that the walking, biking, or driving courier should navigate to. Now you can review your shipment information and verify it is correct before moving on.


Packaging Services


After you complete the Shipment Information page, select which services you desire for your order. At this stage, you will see three options on your screen in the Kaebox app. 


Packaging: Select this option to get mailer bags brought to you to prepare your package.

Postage Label: Select this option to have your courier print your shipping label(s) for you. Users can also opt to print their own label by selecting Postage Label Only.

Pick Up & Drop Off: Select this option to get a courier pick-up and drop-off service. 


Select each option to arrange a full-service home pickup, if you do not need packaging or printing services you can opt-out. After you have made your selections, continue to the next step.


Package Dimensions


Next, you will select which type of package you are sending. Choose a Letter, Envelope, or Box from the dial. 


Now you must enter the package dimensions. Provide accurate Length, Width, and Height for the item you wish to send. Users can customize the unit of measurement for their items provide measurements in inches or centimeters, and provide the weight in either pounds, ounces, or kilograms.


After you enter the measurements you must provide the weight of the item. Kaebox users can use their Smart Scale for this step to record accurate data. 


Once you enter the package’s dimensions and weight, the app automatically calculates which Kaebox mailer bag best fits the order, if you choose to add Kaebox mailer bags to your order


Review these options from the drop-down menu. Users can choose another size parcel or continue with the recommended size. 


Review the Restricted Items List


Before you continue we ask that you review the ‘Prohibited Items List’ in order to protect our couriers and postal workers from hazardous or illegal materials. This is an essential step in the instant shipping process through the Kaebox app. 


Choose Your Shipping Coverage


Now you can select any shipping insurance you wish to add to the order. Package protection plans are provided by a Third-Party and users can customize the amount they pay. Choose your preferred amount and add insurance to your order in the Kaebox app. 


Provide Delivery Instructions

Here, you can select whether the delivery requires a signature or not. This option ensures that your package is handled appropriately by the courier company, providing extra security for valuable items. Users can also add a unique delivery PIN code for local deliveries.


Package Indications


Tell the courier if your shipment is fragile or contains liquid. It is important to supply this information during your package pick-up request to ensure the safety of your item(s) and the courier. This information helps the courier handle your package with care and avoid any potential damage during transit. 


Pick Your Perfect Price


Review the pricing options in the Kaebox app and sort them according to cheapest price, or fastest delivery. Scroll through your discounted options from carriers like USPS, UPS, DHL, and FedEx. Make your selection and continue to the next page.


You will be prompted to take a photo of the item you wish to ship so the courier can identify it when they arrive. If your order contains multiple packages, please mark them individually.


Review Your Order


Now that you have provided all the necessary information, you can review your order. Take special care to ensure the sender address, recipient address, and package indications are correct before you continue. Once you have confirmed everything is correct you can continue to the checkout process. You are ready to request your walking, biking, or driving courier from the Kaebox app. 


Proceed Through Checkout


Select the time and date you wish your walking, biking, or driving courier to arrive or you can leave the selected pick-up time as 'Now'. Add any gratuity for your courier and submit your order. You can review and save your receipt at any time. Share your order progress with another party seamlessly through the Kaebox app. Simply share the link provided at the end of your order. 


Split Your Shipment


Before you submit your payment, use the sliding scale on the checkout page to customize the amount each party pays. Once you are happy with the shared amount you can send a payment link to the other party. Continue through the checkout process and we will confirm your order once the other party submits their payment. 


You can check on the shipment status at any time in the Shipment tab. Once the other party has completed their payment a courier will be dispatched to complete the order.


Celebrate Your Succesful Submission


Once the payment is processed your Kaebox order is ready for pickup, great job! Users can submit their feedback and provide Kaebox with reviews so we can ensure you always enjoy a smooth and seamless experience. You can choose to share your shipment updates with the other party seamlessly by sending them the tracking information. You can choose to notify the recipient by text message as well.
